Rooted in nature. In rhythm with you.
You’ve explored so much in the world of wellness.
Together, let’s discover what’s right for you.
You’ve put time and care into your health. With so many approaches, products, and opinions, it can still be difficult to know what fits you.
Together, we’ll make sense of what you’ve tried, explore what needs attention, and choose practical next steps—with room to adjust as we learn.
An experienced guide who sees the whole picture.
Over 20 years of working with clients and patients, I’ve learned the importance of understanding the person behind the health concerns. As a naturopathic doctor, somatic therapy practitioner, and bodyworker, I bring scientific training, hands-on experience, and attentive listening to our work together.
I help you make sense of what you’ve tried, consider what may be missing, and choose next steps that fit your needs and your life.
A fuller understanding of your health.
A plan that makes sense for you.
Naturopathic foundations
Consider your whole health picture and the foundations that support it: nourishment, movement, rest, environment, and natural rhythms.
A functional medicine perspective
Explore connections among your history, health concerns, daily habits, and existing lab information to identify what deserves attention.
Somatic practice
Notice how you experience stress, sensations, emotions, and needs—and practice responding with greater awareness and choice.
Together, these approaches help us choose where to begin, what to prioritize, and how to adapt your plan as we learn what supports you.
Four phases.
A plan that evolves with you.
We begin with your whole picture, choose meaningful priorities, and adjust as we learn. These phases guide our work throughout the 12 weeks; they are not rigid blocks. Your needs, capacity, and response shape the process.
Understand your starting point.
We explore your story, goals, health concerns, and current capacity. Together, we create your Embodied Health Map and choose your first steps.
Strengthen your foundations.
We support the areas that matter most for your health and explore what may be getting in the way, one manageable change at a time.
Deepen your awareness.
We connect what you understand with what you experience by noticing body signals, stress responses, emotions, needs, boundaries, and patterns.
Make it your own.
We bring what works into daily life so you leave with practices and rhythms you understand and can adapt as life changes.
Throughout the phases, we return to five connected areas of health.
We focus where support is most useful for you rather than trying to change everything at once. These areas help us understand the bigger picture and decide what deserves attention now.
RHYTHM · Sleep, daylight, daily routines, and your connection with nature’s cycles.
We may explore sleep and waking, morning and evening light, meal timing, daily energy patterns, work and rest, and weekly or seasonal rhythms. These patterns can also intersect with hormonal and metabolic health.
NOURISH · Food, hydration, digestion, gut health, and your relationship with nourishment.
We look at what helps you feel adequately nourished, including food quality and variety, protein, hydration, digestion, bowel function, gut health, and your relationship with food.
BUILD · Strength, mobility, endurance, and the physical capacity to do what matters to you.
Movement may include strength and muscle building, bone-supportive activity, mobility, cardiovascular fitness, walking, conditioning, or gentler movement. Your goals, health context, preferences, and current capacity guide the approach.
REGULATE + RENEW · Recognizing stress responses, supporting renewal, and adapting to life’s demands.
We explore how you respond to stress and daily demands and what helps you regain flexibility and choice. Depending on your needs, that may include rest, breathwork, movement, grounding, expression, boundaries, or healthy mobilization. Regulation does not always mean calming down.
ALIGN · Bringing your habits, boundaries, responsibilities, environment, and goals into a workable balance.
Your health plan has to fit the life you actually live. We look at responsibilities, relationships, boundaries, resources, work and home environments, and what you can realistically carry now.
When relevant, we may also consider environmental factors such as allergens, air quality, dampness or mold, and other exposures that may deserve further attention.
Depending on your needs, we may explore concerns related to energy, digestion, sleep, hormones, weight, metabolism, stress, environmental factors, or resilience through several of these areas.
Somatic awareness may be woven throughout our work, beginning in GROUND and deepening as we go.
Personalized guidance you can bring into real life.
This is a one-to-one experience with Dr. Celeste—not a prerecorded course and not a standard protocol that everyone follows.
Begin together
One 90-minute initial session gives us time to understand your story, goals, current health context, strengths, challenges, and capacity. We begin creating your Embodied Health Map and identify what deserves attention first.
Stay supported
Five private follow-up sessions across the 12 weeks, along with brief weekly check-ins, give us space to review what you are noticing, answer questions, and adjust your next steps.
Carry it forward
We bring what has proven useful into your Personal Embodied Health Guide, including your key rhythms, practices, early signals, strategies for demanding seasons, and direction for your next 90 days.
How does my personalized plan unfold?
You will understand the overall direction of our work, but you will not receive twelve weeks of assignments on Day 1. We usually focus on one to three meaningful priorities at a time, notice what happens, and use that information to decide what comes next.
What kinds of practices might be included?
Depending on your goals, your plan may include education or practices involving nourishment, digestion, sleep, daily rhythms, movement, strength, mobility, somatic awareness, mindfulness, breathwork, boundaries, stress patterns, natural rhythms, or other appropriate wellness strategies. There is no requirement to use every tool.
More about how I work.
What makes the Embodied Health Method different?
You will not automatically receive a long list of recommendations on Day 1. We begin by understanding the whole picture, identifying what deserves attention first, and choosing a small number of useful next steps.
Then we observe what happens and adapt. If something is not helping, the answer is not automatically to add more.
My goal is for you to understand yourself and your health more clearly over time, so you become increasingly confident knowing what supports you and when additional professional help is appropriate.
How does somatic work fit in?
Somatic awareness is one part of the Method, not an explanation for every health concern. We may notice physical sensations, posture and movement, emotions, thoughts, imagery, stress responses, needs, and patterns as useful information.
The purpose is greater awareness and choice—not forcing an interpretation onto what your body is experiencing.
What guides Dr. Celeste’s whole-person approach?
My work is informed by naturopathic principles including treating the whole person, first doing no harm, looking for contributing factors, supporting the body’s capacity for healing, prevention, and doctor as teacher.
I also place practical value on our relationship with nature: daylight and darkness, sleep and waking, nourishing food, movement, rest, seasons, environment, and the rhythms that help organize human life.
What about supplements, herbs, homeopathy, or testing?
These may be considered when they are relevant, but they are tools—not automatic requirements of the program. Existing information is considered first, and any recommendation should have a clear reason.
Clinical testing, diagnosis, and treatment are handled separately through the appropriate clinical relationship when needed and permitted.
What are the five channels of somatic awareness?
Mind: thoughts, beliefs, questions, and meaning-making.
Imagination: images, memories, metaphors, and possibilities.
Posture + movement: gestures, posture, movement, stillness, and impulses to move.
Sensations: physical experiences such as warmth, tension, heaviness, tingling, or ease.
Emotions + feelings: the emotional experience present in the moment.
You do not need to be comfortable with every channel. We follow what is useful and accessible to you.
I’m Dr. Celeste.
My understanding of whole-person health began long before my formal education. I was raised around massage, holistic health, Eastern traditions, yoga, meditation, and an appreciation for the rhythms of nature.
I later earned a bachelor’s degree in human physiology from Boston University and a doctorate in naturopathic medicine. I am a Rhode Island licensed naturopathic doctor and licensed massage therapist, as well as a somatic therapy practitioner. My professional background also includes nutrition, corrective exercise, personal training, homeopathy, breathwork, Ayurveda-informed wellness, and years of hands-on work with the body.
Over the years, one thing has become increasingly clear: people rarely need every tool I know. They need help understanding which pieces matter for them now.
My role is to listen carefully, ask useful questions, help you understand the bigger picture, and guide you toward a plan that becomes increasingly your own.
The further we move from Nature, the sicker we may become.
— Dr. CelesteA few things you may be wondering.
Do I need experience with somatic practices?
No. Somatic work is one possible part of the Method, not the entire program. We begin simply and adapt practices to your comfort and interests. You can pause or decline any practice.
Is this only for women or for a particular age group?
No. The Method is designed around the individual rather than a single demographic. People may come with concerns involving energy, digestion, sleep, changing health needs, stress, hormones, movement, workload, or simply not knowing what to prioritize.
Can I participate from outside Rhode Island?
Virtual work focuses on wellness education, behavior-change support, self-awareness, and somatic practices. Availability depends on your location and the services requested. Medical diagnosis and treatment are not provided through interstate coaching.
How is this different from medical care or psychotherapy?
The Embodied Health Method is a wellness education and coaching program and is not psychotherapy or a substitute for medical care. I am a licensed naturopathic doctor in Rhode Island; naturopathic clinical assessment, diagnosis, testing, and treatment are provided separately when appropriate within an established Rhode Island clinical relationship.
Will I need labs, supplements, or a special diet?
Not automatically. We begin with your goals, history, existing information, and current capacity. Testing, supplements, products, or dietary changes should have a clear reason and are considered within the appropriate service and clinical relationship.
Can I include massage or bodywork?
In-person massage and therapeutic bodywork may be arranged separately for local clients when appropriate and available.
What happens after I apply?
I review your application personally to determine whether the Embodied Health Method appears to be an appropriate fit. If it is, I’ll send you information about enrollment, your full intake, and scheduling. If another type of support appears more appropriate, I’ll let you know.
